Answers to some commonly asked questions.
In the our first session, we will talk about what brought you to counseling, your mental health history, family and home life, and any other relevant background. This helps me get a full picture of your situation and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy.
Follow-up sessions are up to 55 minutes long. In these, we’ll check in on your progress, explore anything that may be getting in the way, and continue working toward your goals.
Counseling looks different for everyone, and so does the number of sessions. Depending on what you’re working through and the goals you want to reach, therapy might last anywhere from a few sessions to several months or more. The pace really depends on your needs, consistency, and how actively you’re able to engage both in and outside of sessions.

I offer in-person sessions at my office in Cornelius, NC, and virtual sessions to anyone across North Carolina through secure telehealth. Some clients prefer to mix both options—it’s all about what feels most comfortable and works best for you.
I work with clients ages 13 and up, collaborating with both teens and their parents to support meaningful change and positive outcomes. A big part of this work involves building trust, improving communication, and creating space for growth both in and outside of sessions.
